search engines

I tried the term: top 10 books and found rollyo gave the nytimes 2007 list as a top result. the other sites started with commercial sites like B & N and Amazon. I will try rollyo out again but perhaps not the others. i don't like search engines or websites telling me what other people are looking for, i've got enough of my own interests that i find that extra information just distracting.

Podcasting for everyone

I listened to our own Edith Farrar and Jennifer Sullivan reading children's books through Sno-Isle's website. I'm glad to be reminded of this resource for our community. A good filler for the times when storytime is not in session.

Image Generator

OK, that was fun and easier than the first time I tried adding an image to my blog. Perhaps I am learning something after all.

streaming mukilteo

Not as exciting as Disney California Adventureland's Screaming California, but pretty nifty, this Audio Download stuff. It took longer than expected to upgrade my software but ended up with the soundtrack for Because of Winn Dixie--I did not know we had soundtrax avaialble through OverDrive so this was a bonus.

del.icio.us

we use ths tool at the reference desk at MUK. It's cool. I'm sure I could make better use of it so I will try to explore this more when I can.

wiki wiki woo

sounds like a children's book title to me...Mary, super MUK PSA, created a wiki for our safety committee. we used it at our meeting earlier this week and all of us felt it was a useful communication tool. as the minutes taker I enjoyed the immediacy of the act of typing minutes and publishing them for view all in one fell swoop. see for yourself: https://safety4muk.pbwiki.com/
